About Mary Freihofner

During her teen years Ms. Freihofner suffered with fairly typical teen acne but then at the age of 22 Ms. Freihofner began breaking out with cystic acne on the chin and jaw line. Doctors and their prescriptions did not seem to help and it was not until age 28 that Ms. Freihofner finally made it to a good Esthetician who was able to clear up her skin considerably. That is when Ms Freihofner’s interest in skin care began, 10 years ago.

In 2000 Ms. Freihofner visited Philadelphia, fell in love with the city and moved from Florida to Fishtown in Philadelphia. Immediately she enrolled at American Academy of Beauty, passed her state boards and next attended classes and received certification in Medical Esthetics at Hylunia-Hy Med.  Ms. Freihofner worked as an Esthetician in two different salon spa’s but was unable to really practice skin care in the way she felt was needed for her clients. Though Ms. Freihofner recognizes the benefits of relaxing and pampering in the facial experience she did not want that to be the main component of her facials. She also felt that skin care was just too expensive. She recognized that not many people can afford an $85 to $130 one hour facial and yet many, particularly acne clients, truly benefit from them. She saw that she would have to open her own shop to practice therapeutic and affordable skin care. And so the vision began and five years later that unique vision has become a reality.

Ms. Freihofner is State Board Certified in the State of PA, Medical Esthetics Certified, Owner of Affordable Skin Care Salon and Acne Stop Skin Care, and member of Allied Health Association.  Ms. Freihofner is consistently attending conferences, reading about the newest skin care information and is highly specialized in acne control and prevention.

Ms. Freihofner feels strongly about protecting the earth and recycling and all water bottles, paper, cardboard and other recyclable materials make it to their respective recycling centers or bins.
